Honesty has six dimensions for us
We could write a lot here about all the Fairtrade or organic seals that our product can receive, or about the claim that we have and that we also like to put into words. However, for us it is more important to let what we do speak for itself. This is how Ærlig works.

Gentle catch
Both the scallops and the Norway lobster are caught by hand in small boats with few people and without the typical trawl nets. Thus, the habitats are not destroyed, and the animals are particularly protected.

Sustainable
packaging
Our scallops are bedded in natural seaweed for optimal cushioning and insulation. In general, we constantly question our packaging materials in order to be as sustainable and as animal-friendly as possible.

Species-
appropriate
transport
Norway lobsters are solitary animals and are therefore transported upright in individual boxes. The scallops are gently temporarily stored on a sandbank in the fjord and later bedded in seaweed for transport. The animals arrive stress-free and alive in top kitchens within 3 days by small climate-friendly sprinters.

Fair wages
Our fishermen and divers are guaranteed fair pay. Prices are based on demand to prevent the current market value from soon making this traditional craft no longer profitable. The consequence would be trawl nets, which we want to prevent at all costs. We also guarantee that there will be no delay in payment with a pay app.

Protection of the population
Both products are seasonal goods. Only as many animals are taken as our strict conditions allow. Attention is also paid to the size. Only animals that are already 12 cm in size in the case of scallops or 15 cm in size in the case of Norway lobsters may be removed.

No
overproduction
In order to work as sustainably as possible, we want to avoid overproduction. To compensate for any shortfalls, we still pay the full price. The impetus for this is not only the protection of existing stock, but also our professional ethics.
